 NATIONAL STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM &
GROUP FACILITATOR TRAINING



STUDENT ASSISTANCE TRAINING INTERNATIONAL provides in-depth training to schools and communities in the prevention and early intervention of high-risk behaviors. We offer state-of-the-art training in national program models which are successfully impacting youth, their families, and communities in which they live. For the past 25 years, SATI has trained schools in 50 United States and 30 foreign countries.

PURPOSE OF THE WORKSHOP: 

This intensive 3-day workshop will teach participants how to implement a comprehensive Student Assistance Program (K-post secondary) in their school, district, or community. Major emphasis will be place on group facilitator training and the prevention and early intervention of high-risk behaviors. Participants will be guided through eight experiential support groups.

WHO IS THIS WORK SHOP FOR? 

Teachers, counselors, social workers, psychologists, administrators, board members, parents, nurses, classified staff, mental health and social service agencies, and other concerned community members. Participants may attend as an individual or as a member of a school community team. 

MATERIALS AND COST: 

A comprehensive training manual (440 pgs) and certificate of completion for 27 classroom hours will be given to each participant.

GRADUATE CREDIT: 

Available--2 semester hours from the University of Wyoming. Participants will register the day of the training and pay an additional tuition fee of $100 U.S. dollars.

Participants will learn how to facilitate support groups in their school and community. The following groups can be offered after the training: anger management, grief and loss, children of divorce, alcohol/drug intervention, children from substance abusing families, bullies and victims, life skills, new student support group, family support, etc.
